It was a little cold this evening, and streetlights were lining the sidewalk, giving a cold light to the ones flittering to and fro on the walkway. There was no snow as of yet, but it was only a matter of time before it tried to plague them. The figure that stood out front the town's movie theatre probably should have been just as forlorn as the rest, but in fact he was rather happy. He was looking forward to having gotten out and about, and since this was a dog town, he was more than happy to get comfortable.
He trudged upward towards the ticket booth, stuffing his hand into the pocket of his jeans and tugging out his wallet. He flipped through it and with a muttered curse of, "Sugar muffins!" he moved up to the booth. He forgot his ticket and had to buy a new one. ;^; Oh, well, the one at home would be a keepsake! =)
"Um, 'scuse me? Can I get one adult ticket to Mirrors?" He knew he probably shouldn't go to a horror movie, but he couldn't help it - it seemed like fun to get scared. He hardly ever went anyway, and when he did it was usually to a comedy, so he decided to change it up a bit. Seemed like more fun, and maybe more people would be there.
After being handed his ticket, Kaeden trundled into the lobby, pulling his jacket a little closer to him. He liked this jacket - it was down, and really warm, even though he wasn't expecting all too much coldness in here. He really just liked the feel of it. Stuffing his wallet back into his jean pocket, he shoved his hands into his jacket pocket, and paused by the concession stand. Mmm, popcorn... @w@ He couldn't resist, but there were so many flavours and sizes and combos to choose from!
Somebody help him choose!

Roxanne
Roxy's hands slammed down into her jacket pockets. She really should have worn a coat. Though, she was going to the movies, hopefully it would be warmer in the theatre. Her tennis shoes scuffed the road as she walked along, she didn't have a car, so she basically had to walk everywhere. It didn't matter that much, it was good to walk. A street lamp she past, flickered and then went completely black. The other lamps on every street, cast like an eerie glow on the people that passed by them. Her gaze was on the ground and occasionally looked up, running into a lamp would not be a good thing. Her cold hands withdrew from the jacket pockets and she rubbed them together, stuffing them back into the pockets after only a brief moment. The movie theatre was finally in view and she was so glad. She could almost already feel the warm air encompassing her as she entered the building. Of course, she had a couple more feet to walk. She could dream though.
Her pace picked up a bit and she actually went into a slow jog. Trying to get out of the chilly weather. It wasn't freezing, however it was pretty cold. She had never liked the cold, she had never really liked heat either. She just preferred the in between. That was why her favorite seasons were Spring and Fall. When she finally reached the ticket booth, she sighed. A puff of white air rose in front of her, before disappearing in the air. Smiling she grabbed her wallet and pulled out the money that would be needed. Quickly she put the wallet back in her front jeans pocket. Glancing up at the movies that were playing, she shrugged. Why not try something different? She was usually an action or comedy girl, however she really didn't feel like doing either of those tonight. "One ticket to Mirrors, please." It took only about two minutes for the employee to get her the ticket. Smiling she gave her a quick thank you, turned around and walked into the building. A huge grin lit up her face as she walked in, the familiar warming air and scents wrapped around her. Walking forward she went to the snack area. She spotted one guy already there, but it didn't look like he had decided what he wanted. Slipping in, she asked the lady for a medium size buttered popcorn bucket. She hardly ever went to the movies, why not enjoy it to the fullest? Turning around she smiled at the guy "Hey" Roxy, was the least of shy. She was never shy, probably never would be. Very easily, she could walk up and talk to a stranger. Point proven right now.

Kaeden was still staring at the combo menu, torn between the large buttered popcorn combo (complete with drink and everything!) and the nachos when he saw someone else walk in and make her order. She made it look so easy, but there were so many yummy things to choose from, how could it possibly be so simple? She turned to look at him, and right on cue, there came that rosy blush that heated his cheeks and gave him a youthful appearance. He was really twenty-one, but he certainly looked nothing like it. In fact, when he wanted to, he could probably pull off looking like eighteen. He gave her a shy smile, but a radiant one, and returned her greeting with a nod of his head. He was shy, but he wasn't rude. He hesitantly moved a bit forward, approaching her. Maybe he could ask her her secret to making ordering food at concession stands easy.
"Hey." Good, it was a start! Now what? He paused for a moment, before blurting out, "Why does everything have to look so good? I want to just order everything." Well... okay! We could work off this, right? He blushed deeper, and gave a nervous little laugh, before shyly adding, "I'm Kaeden Laughlin, pretty new here. What's your name, if you don't mind my asking?"
Oh, sugar muffins. It always seemed so difficult, meeting new people here. But then, he'd always been pretty shy, so it wasn't like it was really all that new. He hoped she understood. Man, it was warm in here.

Roxanne
Roxy watched as the person behind the counter hurried around, getting her bucket of popcorn ready. She smiled and waited, she usually wasn't a very patient person, it was one of the things she tried to work on. Really, who honestly liked to wait? It was boring... However, she tried her best not to appear rude, smiling as she waited, even humming a little bit to herself. Trying to keep her mind off of the fact, that she was standing there, doing practically nothing. The movie was going to start in a couple of minutes, she couldn't wait. In truth, she had never seen a horror movie. They looked freaky, obviously, however, trying something new wasn't a bad thing. Roxy, really liked to do it often. It was steadily getting harder to find things she hadn't done. Though, there was so much you could do in the world, that she could almost always find something. The trick was, you have to find something near where you live. That's when it actually got hard.
When she said her hello to the guy standing a little ways from the counter, he looked king of embarrassed. Okay, so not everyone was like her in not being shy. She could live with that. When he gave her a smile in return, she grinned. Maybe he wasn't that shy. She really wanted to meet new people and she thought the movie theatre would be a good place to do it. Roxy gave him a reassuring smile, as he said hello to her. No, he was most definitely shy, at least to some extent. Her eyes widened and she chuckled as he blurted out a long string of words. "Because, that's how they get you to buy it." Humor sparked in her chocolate brown eyes as she watched him. "It's also how they get you to keep coming back" She grinned as she spoke to him. Just when it seemed he wasn't really shy, he started looking it again and then gave his name. "Cool name, I'm Roxy" Really, her name was Roxanne. However, she absolutely hated her full name. She did like her nickname though. "Which movie did you come to see?" She asked him curiously.

Kaeden shuffled his feet a bit as she responded. He wasn't used to talking to girls very often, though he tried his best to make it seem casual. Maybe it was harder because he'd never had a girlfriend. He didn't know why, but most girls who liked him freaked him out at the same time. Not because he didn't like them back, but because they always expected him to make the first move, which he was definitely not comfortable with doing. He always felt like a dog with peanut butter - he just couldn't stop licking his lips, or shuffling, or do something to keep his mind off of it. Maybe that's what he liked so much about dogs - not only did they not expect you to do something, they were totally understanding when you messed up. He liked being about them best, he thought. He knew there was a shelter in the area, or maybe even a breeder. He had thought about getting a dog, but he hadn't really gotten around to really thinking about it.
He laughed, and smiled wider when she answered him. Those darn companies, always trying to take his money! Well, he couldn't say he hadn't expected it, at least. Maybe he would just get popcorn, like she was getting. Nachos sometimes gave people gas. ._.; She responded to his introduction by giving her name - a nickname, it sounded like - and the blush deepened once more. It probably looked like somebody had smeared blood on his cheeks he was so red by now. He met her gaze briefly with his own - a blue-green gaze - before flicking it away to the menu again. He wanted some of that popcorn now!
As he moved away, he heard her curious question about the movie he was going to see. He smiled as he made his order, before turning around again and saying, "I came to see Mirrors. You know, that new horror movie with Kiefer Sutherland? He's an idiot of an actor, but it looks good." He thanked the lady and tossed the payment on the counter, as he picked up the bucket of popcorn and leaned against the counter, adding, "I'm not usually one to go to horror movies as I prefer comedy." He smiled, and tilted his head to the side, as if to silently query what she was going to go and see.

Roxanne
Roxy watched in vague confusion as he seemed to fidget. It wasn't a big deal, she talked to people all the time. Some of her best friends in Kentucky, were guys. She just usually got along better with them.. It was weird, most girls didn't like her, because she didn't wear makeup, dress in skirts or dresses, and she loved animals, sports, cars, ect. You name something a guy likes, she probably likes it too. She was just born that way, usually ending up in her befriending guys. She had never dated though, most of the guys just considered her as, one of the 'guys'. So she didn't exactly get asked out. Though, it had happened once or twice. She just hadn't liked them in that way. After that, most guys had stayed away from the topic of dating when they were around her. She just wasn't normal, in the sense of what most people thought a normal girl was. It didn't bother her though, she hated the way some girls acted. Even her sister was that way. One year younger than Roxy, and always looking down her nose at her. Ava, was a pink chic. Dressing in the highest fashion clothes, wearing loads of makeup, always flirting with guys, just plain and simple, the typical mega girly-girl. Roxy didn't hate Ava, however she didn't exactly want to see her again. Sound horrible? Well, they just didn't get along and likely never would. The sound of the employee jerked her out of her thoughts. Turning around she smiled and quickly paid for her snack, taking the popcorn bucket with one hand. With her other hand she flipped her coffee colored hair out of her face, then turned back around to Kaeden.
She grinned as he responded to her question. So they were going to see the same movie, cool! For a fleeting moment she wondered if he was really into horror movies. It was possible, she knew a lot of guys who loved horror movies. She smirked at his comment about the actor and nodded her head when he mentioned it looked like a pretty good movie. "Yeah it does, though I'm not sure if I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it." She smiled as she responded to his comments. Her own comment easily showing that she didn't usually watch horror movies but she was watching this one. "I prefer action and comedy" She supplied with a grin. Glancing at her watch she saw that the movie would be starting soon. "Hey, you want to sit together?" For some people asking that question would be hard, as if you were asking someone on a date. Obviously, it was fairly easy for her.

He couldn't help himself. As he listened to her and watched her, he continued to pop pieces of popcorn into his mouth. He had always had such a problem waiting until the movie had started before digging right in to the food. He quickly glanced at his own watch and his eyebrows shot up as he noticed the time, just as she had mentioned it. Whoa, it was almost time for it to start! He wondered if they would be the only ones. He looked up, surprised, as she asked if he would like to sit with her. Well, why wouldn't he? It wasn't like she was off-putting or anything, but maybe she assumed he might be a bit twitchy with it, seeing as how he was already pretty fidgety. He just... was awkward, when meeting new people. He didn't really fit in very well, though he knew that he was pretty easy to like and get along with. It just took him some time to warm up to people, at least to the point where he was comfortable laughing and joking with him. This woman, though... well, she seemed like she wasn't taking him very seriously, and he liked that. He liked knowing he could relax and crack off a joke. She didn't come across as one of those snooty girly types, and he liked that. She didn't put pressure.
Some other girls had always expected him to ask them out, and frankly he didn't know why. Was he some sort of babe magnet without trying? @w@ He certainly hoped not. He didn't like that kind of expectation. He'd come here to get away from all of that, where he could focus on what he really wanted - working with dogs. He'd heard of kennels in the area, and he was curious as to if maybe they were hiring. He wouldn't mind some extra cash in his pocket, and the experience would be good. But, he was getting ahead of himself. Right now, he had to work on getting along better with people, and focusing his attention on settling in. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot...
"I'd love to sit with you." What a diplomatic answer! He was getting much better at this conversation thing. He grabbed his popcorn bucket and the pop that came with it, and started to move towards the theatre area that they were to be seated in for the film. He wondered if he would like this one, even. He'd heard it had some pretty gruesome scenes, and he had difficulties stomaching blood and gore. But, his curiosity had driven him to it, and he certainly wasn't going to back out now. He was here, and he would just sit through it and deal with it.
Kaeden glanced around the theatre, the lights already fairly dim, and was surprised to find it empty. Were they seriously the only ones here? o.O; It put a little more pressure on him, but he quickly brushed the thought away. Roxy only wanted to sit with him - who was he to suddenly jump to the conclusion that she might be interested? It just didn't happen like that, only in those trashy paperback romances. That was the place where crap like that belonged, right? Nope, no romance here, no evil plotting roleplayers out to give him some heartache. Not at all! He moved to the back of the theatre - it had a larger aisle anyway, more leg room - and plunked himself down into the seat. It was nice and cushy, and he settled himself in, shrugging his down jacket off as he did so. It would get warm anyway.
ooc// I'm not a nice person to poor Kaeden am I. o.O;

Roxanne
She smiled, well sort of, one side of her mouth sort of tipped upward, as she saw him look slightly surprised the movie was about to start. "I know, the time just flies when you're having fun" The comment she said was a joke and it was quite apparent that it was. Her slight smile changed into a lopsided grin as soon as the words had left her mouth. To cover up the fact that she was about to laugh at his reaction when she asked him to sit with her, she popped a piece of popcorn in her mouth. The little white ball that was soaked in butter seemed to dissolve as soon as it had touched her tongue. She wondered if he had gotten the wrong impression from her question. It could happen. She knew very well that it could be easily mistaken for something that it wasn't. Heck! It had happened loads of times to her before. Not that she hadn't been interested in some of the guys that she had asked... It was just life, you like someone, most of them don't like you back. She wondered how some girls could so easily find a guy that liked them. Of course, she reminded herself, the pair usually broke up pretty quickly. That was why, Roxy herself had never been on a date, I know! Twenty and never been on a date. That was just the way she was. When, or if, she ever dated a guy, it would be because she already was friends with him, what sense is there if you start dating someone you hardly know? You're almost guaranteed to break up sooner or later.
Roxy continued eating her popcorn slowly as she waited for his response. She wasn't really in a hurry. Really, it wasn't like the beginning of a horror movie would be so mandatory to see. In all honesty, she wasn't exactly jumping with excitement to go see the movie, Mirrors. Well why'd you pay for it then? You had other choices! In her mind, she kept yelling at herself. It was her choice, so she had to go through with it. No way was she going to back down. Take it as a personal challenge to herself. For a minute she considered telling him she didn't mind either way, but would that make it seem like she really didn't want him there, and was just asking him out of courtesy? Whatever, she'd just wait for his answer, it wasn't like she had been waiting for very long. She just wasn't very good at it...
"Great" She smiled in response to his acceptance of her invitation. She'd hopefully get to count him as a friend later on, they just had to get to know each other, easy right? Well it was sort of for her, normally. However, this guy was a tad shyer than all the other people she hung out with. It wasn't a bad thing, it just made getting to know him a little bit harder. Hey! She was up to the challenge, as you can tell, she loved challenges. With that in mind, she shifted her body towards the theatre door, though, still waiting politely for Kaeden.
As Roxy entered through the theatre door, her eyes scanned the rows of chairs. Or whatever you want to call the cushy things you sit on at the theatre. She was slightly shocked to find that all of the chairs were empty, completely... It unnerved her just a bit that she was in here alone, with a guy. Never, in all twenty years of her life, had she been alone with a guy. She just thought that was how things that weren't supposed to happen, happened. So she avoided stupid things like that. In truth, Roxy hadn't even kissed a guy before, shocked yet? She wasn't going to dwell on it though. They were just sitting together. Here to watch a movie. One brighter aspect, it wasn't some romance movie, it was horror, nothing would happen, romantic stuff didn't happen while you're watching a horror movie. It just didn't. That thought easily calmed her down. Besides she wasn't really interested, she had just met the guy, sure he was cute and seemed really nice... She let her thought trail off, trying not to think about things like that. If it was even possible, she felt that as she sat down, the lights got even darker. The movie finally switched on, however, they were just showing those useless commercials. Those things just drover her nuts... "Do you got a dog?" She asked with interest. Most people in this town were dog loves, but you never knew...

Kaeden wriggled a bit so that the jacket didn't bug him so much. It was much warmer in here all of a sudden, so he shifted so that the popcorn bucket sat comfortably on his lap. It was warm, so at least he knew it was fresh popcorn sitting in there. He continued to munch on the pieces, feeling distinctly awkward, though careful not to show it. He didn't want her to think he'd gotten the wrong impression from her invitation. He hadn't asked her out here, they had just ended up being here at the same time; he should stop reading into it. It would start to eat up his mind, until he ended up just asking her what her intentions were. But then he'd end up looking like a jerk, which was the whole problem to begin with. Ack, he hated going in circles. ._.;
The lights dimmed more until it was completely dark, and he was conscious of the fact that he could see the light from the screen reflected in her eyes out of the corner of his own. It looked almost cat-like, but the light flattered her face. In fact, she was quite pretty, from what he could see, though he was adept at looking without fully staring, so he doubted she could see him quickly looking at her. Ah, well, he was guy; at least that's how he justified himself at any rate. He heard her question, and turned to look at her, offering a smile as he added, "I wish! I want to get one actually, been -" He cut himself off, as the distinctive music that announced the starting of the movie began to play. He then turned his attention to the movie.
The roleplayer would now like to warn any potential readers that she is indeed about to type something from the movie, and would kindly ask the reader not to read the next paragraph if they aren't interested in spoilers. =)
He was a bit confused, as it opened with a man running in a subway station with a rag. Allowing the benefit of the doubt, he continued to eye it intently as the man continued to yell at whatever was chasing him to leave him alone, before standing in front of a mirror. Shoving a handful of popcorn into his mouth, he continued to remain entranced in the film, watching as a chunk of the mirror fell off. The actor continued to blabber - it was a bit annoying now - and started to try to wipe it up. The image in the mirror took the piece of glass, and slit its own throat with it, causing the slash to appear on the throat of the actor. The blood seeped everywhere.
Kaeden grimaced and stuck his tongue out, his face twisting into a brief flicker of disgust, before he turned to see how Roxy had reacted to that particular bit. He leaned towards her to whisper, "That was pretty gross, huh?" He knew he didn't have to whisper as they were still the only ones in the theatre, but it was habit to try to be quiet in a movie theatre. Him and his manners.

Roxanne
Roxy lifted her popcorn from her lap and placed it on the armrest on the opposite side that Kaeden was sitting. Apparently she had gotten a really fresh batch, it was starting to burn her legs, through her denim jeans. "Shoot, I should've gotten a drink too." She mumbled. Of course, at the time she had only been hungry, it's just if you eat to much popcorn, with salt, you get thirsty. Shrugging her shoulders she decided to just wait for intermission. With the popcorn balancing on the armrest, she pulled her jacket off of her, laying it in the floor, she could just wash it later, besides it would've gotten dirty no matter where she was. Whatever. For another moment she wondered if Kaeden found this as weird as she did, he didn't look like it was affecting him though, so she didn't ask.
The commercials rattled on and on, about things no one cared about, so she just sat there, impatiently waiting for the movie to start. Brown eyes moved quickly and glanced over at Kaeden, then quickly looked back at the screen. If it hadn't been for the screen being on, she wouldn't have been able to see him, it was that dark. Regrettably, she noticed, that he was really incredibly cute. Though she kept telling herself in her mind, this isn't a date, this is hopefully the beginning of friends. She emphasized the word 'friends' in her mind, trying to drill it into herself. She didn't have any place to believe that Kaeden might like her. Good grief, she felt like a little school girl with a crush, not a good feeling, let me tell you. As soon as she asked him about a dog he turned to face her, so she did the same. Turning in her seat so that she could look at him easily, not just out of the corner of her eye. He stopped mid-sentence when the movie finally started to play, she turned herself back and her eyes watched the movement on screen.
(xD I haven't really seen the movie. So don't expect any posts about it from me. I'll just use what you give me =P)
It looked like an every day chase. As she said before, she watched a lot of action movies. She also watched a series where torture scenes were frequent. So she could handle the blood and such, what she couldn't handle was the unrealistic ways that it happened. That was a horror movie for you. She watched as the image in the mirror slit its own throat and then the slit seemed to appear on the man that had been running away. One eyebrow raised in a look that said 'they could've done better than that.'. She glanced over and noticed that Kaeden looked disgusted. Apparently, the both weren't really meant for watching horror movies.
Because she was so intent on the movie, when she heard his voice in her ear she jumped slightly, and then chuckled softly. Flashing him a quick apologetic look. Glancing around the theatre she remember no one else was there. Still, she whispered back as she responded. "Yeah, though they could've been more creative" There was a twinkle in her eye as she spoke. Honestly, it had been disgusting, she wasn't scared, but good grief! "They're off to a wonderful start" She whispered to him sarcastically, before leaning back and settling back into her seat.

He laughed softly at her response about creativity. It was a horror movie - they were all the same really, very little in the way of creativity. Still, she was right - it was a bit lame, but he didn't like blood and gore all that much. So sue him, he wasn't your typical run-of-the-mill male, but he didn't mind. He prided himself on being different most of the time, which is probably why he was crazy to go to this movie to begin with. He certainly didn't regret it, though - it looked like he'd found himself a new friend. Are you quite sure on that friend bit, mate? his conscience/roleplayer hissed at him, and he brushed it/her off. Yes, he was very sure it was just friends. How in the world did he expect someone he'd only known for something like fifteen minutes find him interesting or attractive? It was just wrong. It didn't happen like that, it just didn't work. Mind-boggling, really, but he didn't mind so much. After all, if she did, it wasn't like she seemed like a bad person or anything, so what did he have to worry about? It - no! What the hell. No. >.>;
Kaeden grinned and returned his attention to the movie. Oh, God, no way. Keifer Sutherland appeared onscreen in all of his dramatic glory, and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. He really hated this guy, he was such a twit of an actor. He leaned towards Roxy and murmured softly in her ear, "Dun dun dun dun! Kiefer Sutherland, as serious as a train wreck once again! How's that for creativity?" He smiled at her and settled himself a little closer, subconsciously, though his sweater was now in the vicinity enough so that if she moved even a little, their shoulders would touch. He didn't notice at the present moment, however, and tossed another handful of popcorn into his mouth, quickly brushing his tongue along his lips to lick the salt off them. Should have bought a drink along with it. x.x; It was salty, but buttery at the same time, so he didn't really mind all too much.
He returned his attention to the movie briefly, only to have his eyes widen as the actor looked into the mirror to see his eye squished into his eyes, the nerves hanging out and blood spurting. He made another face, though he had to give them that one. It wasn't natural but it was certainly interesting to watch. He glanced at Roxy once more, startled by how close she seemed all of a sudden. Had he moved? Had she? He felt his heart begin to beat a little faster, though he tried to quell it. What was wrong with him? He hadn't even known her that long. He was like some creepy guy in the creepy house with the creepy one-eyed cat, watching her, but he couldn't stop. He tried, oh how he tried, but for some reason he couldn't help himself. Okay, Kaeden, we'll help you out. Find an excuse?
"You, uh. Have..." Quick, quick! Time's a-ticking. ;3 "Butter on your... lips..."
Oh, sugar muffins.

Roxanne
Okay, she had seen torture scenes. But this was unnatural, and honestly disgusting. Leaning over she whispered "Remind me to never buy a ticket to a horror movie again." She drew back again and kept her gaze on the screen, which was steadily getting harder when looking to her right, at Kaeden, was better than looking at the horrifying images on screen. She glanced to her left for a brief moment and grabbed more popcorn, putting it in her mouth and chewing slowly. Why had she gone to a horror movie? What was wrong with her. She had never been interested in movies such as this, so why? She decided to stop beating herself up about it, it hadn't all turned out bad, she had gotten to meet and talk to Kaeden for a bit. She glanced at her watch for a few seconds, the movie had barely started and she wanted it to be over. Yes, it was that bad. She could probably talk to Kaeden afterwards anyway, so it wasn't like she would never see him again. He lived around here, at least she hoped he did. It was kind of hard to be, uh, friends with someone if they lived so many hours away.
She felt a smirk pull at the corners of her lips as Kaeden rolled his eyes when he saw the actor. Apparently he didn't like him all that much. Roxy herself had never seen the guy act, she probably wouldn't have a very good impression of him when the movie ended, just because he was in a horror movie. She grinned at the comment he whispered in her ear. Leaning over she whispered "I take it you don't like him all that much?" She laughed softly and then re-situated herself in her seat. It was getting steadily uncomfortable in the seats that were supposed to be cushy and able to let you relax. Really, who was relaxed in a horror movie? It just didn't happen. With one hand she grabbed a couple more of the yellow-ish puff balls of popcorn and placed them in her mouth. Wonderful thing about not wearing makeup, you never have to worry about it smearing as you eat. Makeup is just a nuisance, who cares that some guys like it on a girl? She certainly didn't.
Okay, this time, it was so disgusting she made a face and looked away. "Where do they come up with these ideas?" She grumbled. She grabbed more popcorn and tried to erase the image from her mind. This was a movie she would never want to see or remember again. She moved herself again and startled slightly as her shoulder touched his. "Sorry" She murmured softly and she moved away about an inch. Goodness, this was going just fine and dandy, wasn't it? She glanced over at him and noticed he was watching her... She lifted an eyebrow in silent question. What? When he spoke she grinned. "Thanks for telling me" She licked her lips and she felt the powdered buttery stuff dissolve in her mouth.

"No problem." He was finally able to break the trance he was under and turn his head to continue to watch the movie, but he really had no desire to continue to tune in. Although it had become mildly interesting by this time, he still found the person he was with a little more interesting. She didn't seem all too fascinated in him though, so he knew he was just being a bit of an idiot kind of mooning silently over her. He had to rein himself in and focus elsewhere, and he knew it. He knew it as surely as he knew Keifer Sutherland couldn't act to save his life. He gave a soft, barely audible sigh and focused on the movie that was still playing. Didn't they have a pause button in this place? Stuff seemed to be happening way too quickly for his liking.
He watched as, onscreen, the actress playing Keifer Sutherland's sister perched himself into the bathtub. He recognized this scene from the commercials, and was immediately interested in it. Apparently this scene had caused delays in the viewing of it to the critics, which certainly interested him. Would it be that gory? Or what else could happen? He watched as, in the mirror, her image began tugging on her own jaws, slowly prying them away from each other. The sounds were absolutely sickening. The cracking, due to it being a theatre, echoed all around them, and yet he couldn't take his eyes off it as the jaws continued to be pulled clean off of her face. "No way, man, no way," he murmured softly, absolutely disgusted as the girl's corpse slid into the tub, the lower half of her jaw removed from her face. "Ugh, that is just so wrong..." He let it trail off, and turned to face Roxy, wondering how she reacted. Briefly he wondered if she would perhaps need to turn away or something, then reminded himself that she seemed different from other women. She didn't need him to tell her it would be okay, and he wasn't sure if that bothered him or made it a little easier to get along with her.
Either way, he continued to study her to see what she was going to say, and at the same time, hoping that another gruesome part wouldn't distract him. At the same time, however, he hoped that maybe it would, because he was scaring himself. He didn't even know her, how could he possibly assume all of this? It kept playing out like some nutsty romance novel, and it was both bugging him and freaking him out. Would he even be okay with this? He'd never had a girlfriend, he'd never been out on a date, he'd never kissed anybody.... hell, he hadn't even held somebody's hand. Oh, this was going to be an interesting night...

Roxanne
She smiled in response and then switched to watch the movie. Though the entire movie was severely grossing him out. Her brown eyes remained locked on the screen, though in her peripheral vision she could still see Kaeden. Ever time her mind wandered she tried to reign it in, keeping it on the current going on, the movie. The tip of her boots tapped on the ground and her white teeth gritted together every time a gruesome scene came. She really shouldn't of gone to a horror movie, how stupid was she? When her eyes went and looked over at Kaeden again, she admitted to herself, pretty stupid. She was falling for a guy she had known, for what? forty-five minutes or an hour? And, how much did she really know about him... I mean, she knew practically nothing, she had no business liking him or thinking that he might like her. Things just didn't work out that way.
Okay, this scene was practically more than she could handle. Her teeth went together and she tried to block the sound from her ears, though she didn't cover her ears with her hands. Her brown eyes darted away and she decided to just not watch this part. Really, why did people enjoy this kind of movie. It was sickening, gross, disgusting, horrific, and oh the list goes on. "Yeah." She mumbled her agreement, when Kaeden spoke. Her eyelids went down and shut her view off of the movie. Finally she risked opening her eyes and saw the corpse lying in the bathtub. She gave Kaeden a sheepish grin as she returned her gaze to the screen. She usually wasn't this squeamish in movies, she could handle some things a lot better than other girls. But that, that was just, ugh. She leaned toward Kaeden "I'm going to have to watch another movie before I leave tonight" She ended her whisper with a soft chuckle. When she was younger and she got scared when she watched a movie her parents would let her stay up late and watch another one. So now, if she didn't like a movie or something, she would just watch another one. Call it a tradition of you like, it's just the way she did things.
She shifted back into her seat and gave Kaeden a small smile before looking back at the screen. However, she wasn't really interested in seeing any more of this sick movie. What a waste of money, honestly... With one hand she scooped the remaining popcorn out of her bucket and popped them all into her mouth. Chewing quickly and then swallowing, her gaze staying on the screen. Though she couldn't seem to help from looking over at Kaeden every once in a while, meaning ever, oh, two minutes. She was pretty sure she was getting sick of herself, why was she sitting here, watching a movie, but not really watching a movie?

He should never have come here, and he knew it. This was just getting to be a little too much. Part of him didn't want to back out for fear she would think him a coward, but he knew that he didn't want to watch this much more. It was just nothing but carcasses and other such unpleasantness, and he decided that he'd had just about enough of it. Why had he come here anyway? It was stupid of him to come here. But he didn't want to leave her alone, at the same time. Part of him just didn't want to, and he hardly knew why. Forty-five minutes knowing her and he had to admit he was attracted.
Then she spoke about watching another movie. He turned his head towards her. She was practically offering him a way out of it, and maybe he could offer to go with her to another one? They could just sneak into a theatre instead of paying, he doubted that the staff would care, they seemed pretty content just shoveling popcorn into buckets at the front. He felt his heart race again. He would get to spend more time with her, hopefully at a movie they could both enjoy without wincing. He certainly didn't mind switching movies, and it would give him an opportunity to go and grab a drink for himself, and if she let him, maybe her as well. He didn't mind at all. Now the hard part of suggesting a movie to go to arose.
She said she liked comedy, and action. He didn't really favour action, but comedy could be interesting to go to. However, he didn't really favour going to a comedy currently, but what else was there to see? Romance, Kaeden, romance! his conscience/roleplayer hissed at him rather unhelpfully. Once more ignoring it/her, he chose to simply ponder, and decided to just ask her what she wanted to see. Maybe she would have a better idea than he would of what she wanted to see. Wait, he remembered! Wasn't there that really old movie playing here? The one from like, ever and ever ago? He wondered if he could stomach it, then decided he didn't care.
Turning towards her, he leaned close to her and whispered in her ear, "Wanna ditch this butcherfest and go and see that really old movie to see how crappy it is?" Say yes, say yes, please please say yes...
