"I am not getting a dog"Emily told her neighbor, and friend, Ashley. Ashley seemed to feel the need to make sure that Emily wasn't lonely, and she thought that the way to do this was to get Emily a dog. Emily thought this was absurd, considering she just lost a dog a few months ago. "You don't have to, I just want you to look around. Just in case."Ashley told her, knowing she'd talk Emily into it one of these days."Fine"Emily grumbled, crossing her arms.
As Ashley pulled into the shelter driveway, Emily tensed. What if I find a dog I like? Ashley will surely make me get one then. Emily thought to herself. She unbuckled her seatbelt and climbed out of the car."Come on,"Ashley rushed, eager to get Emily inside the shelter.I'm coming, Okay?Emily said to her.
When Emily walked in, she gasped, she forgot how much she hated these places. They made her want to take all the dogs home. As Emily walked down the aisles, she found that none of the dogs sparked her interest. Emily walked down the last aisle, and began to lose hope. Just then, she saw a small dog, huddled in the corner. Emily stopped, then looked at the dog's information chart. She smiled a bit, then turned to a nearby volunteer. Ignoring Ashley, she asked, "Can I see this one out of it's cage?"
"Sure!"the volunteer said, eagerly taking the dog named, 'Moon' out of her cage. Emily followed, as the dog whimpered and whined as her claws slid across the floor. Once in a small, private room, Emily took the leash from the volunteer.
I will post more later, I have to go!
